Memory Reefs are designed to last

The modules that go to build a memory reef are built of high specification marine adjusted concrete designed to last a hundred years in the ocean.

In order to have a whole marine reef dedicated as a special place to your loved one, an ecologically significant amount of marine enhancing modules needs to be deployed on the sea bed.

Any reef can be personalised by

embedding names across the top of concrete modules

adding colour art work to the concrete

by embedding a long lasting ceramic photo tile plaque into a Dedication Disc.

with the inclusion of small personal items embedded inside a Time Pyramid. (e.g USB memory sticks)

Please note that Memory Reefs do not incorporate cremation ashes into its concrete as this would be considered culturally inappropriate in Aotearoa (NZ) and contrary to marine enhancement efforts as we currently understand them.

Holding a boating dedication ceremony above a reef built in memory of a loved one is very appropriate.

Memory Reefs are deployed within a Resource Consented square nautical mile out from Opotiki Harbour entrance. The final resting GPS location of the Memory Reef can be decided by you.
